Working Principle
The tumbling barrel is the first cleaning step for parts after casting. As the steel-bodied barrel rotates slowly the parts strike each other and the barrel wall; sand, scale and thin gate remnants break off and separate. Light burrs are removed at this stage as well.
The barrel is sized according to load and part weight; the interior is protected with wear-resistant plates. Parts leaving the tumbling barrel receive their final surface in the vibratory finishing machines.
